  1. A frontal crash test uncovered a dangerous design flaw in the 2017-2019 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman.

Porsche engineers say a crossmember from the luggage compartment bracket could detach, penetrate the bulkhead wall, and start a fuel leak. Fuel leaks bring fires. Fires bring sadness. Don’t be sad. If your car was built before 02/15/2019, Porsche will reinforce the crossmemebers as part of a recall.

  2. Porsche is recalling the 2017-2018 Panamera because software problems are disabling the electric power steering.

Owners say the problem can be momentary or intermittent. Either way there’s no steering around it – a sudden loss of power steering while driving is less than ideal.

Porsche didn't provide details about why the software fails, but Panamera dealers will update the power steering control units with updated software.

  3. Hairline cracks on the fuel pump's filter flange are allowing gas to leak out of the Macan, Macan S, Macan GTS, and Macan Turbo.

From David Woods on CarComplaints.com A driver will probably notice the problem due to a smell of fuel, and while gas hitting an ignition source is never a good thing, Porsche says no incidents have been reported.

Well, that is unless you count people slamming their heads on fuel pumps while filling up for the 3rd time in a week. The recalled vehicles were built between 03/04/2017 and 04/14/2017.

  4. When it comes to the 911 Carrera, the 911 Targa, or the 718 Boxster, there's an indisputable fact – those cars are hot.

As in, their engines can leak gas, spark a flame, and turn into one of the world's most expensive bonfires. What did you think I meant?

Porsche is recalling about 4,100 cars because the fuel collection pipes' fastening screws can shear off and lead to gas leaks. While there haven't been any fires yet, Porsche knows it's only a matter of time. The recall affects 37 engine types:

    "The recalled replacement engines are 2.0L, 2.5L, 3.0L LP and 3.0L HP engines with part numbers 9A2100920 X, 9A2100925 X, 9A2100927AX, 9A2100930 X and 9A2100930AX."

  5. A missing c-clip in some 2011-2016 Porsche Cayenne SUVs could allow for some brake pedal mayhem.

The missing clip can cause the pivot pin to move and the brake pedal to dislodge. From there, a driver will need to find unique methods of applying the brakes without a brake pedal.

The c-clip stands for circlip, but I'm thinking it could also stand for crap. As in, "ahh, crap --- my brake pedal just fell off."

  6. The Porsche Macan is one hot car. But thanks to some defective fuel lines, it might get a little too hot if you know what I mean.

Porsche is recalling nearly 59k 2015-2016 Macan S and Macan Turbo vehicles after customers complained that gas was leaking inside the engine. Porsche says the recall is "purely precautionary" and hasn't released any information about specific build dates or when the recall will begin.

Porsche says they will notify owners soon. In the meantime, I'd suggest not parking inside a closed structure or near a fireworks shop.

  7. Porsche has recalled a grand total of 2 cars for alignments problems. Yep, 2.

The automaker says a manufacturing error caused an alignment problem that puts the front and rear axles out of whack. Considering those are your only axles, you probably want them, uh ... in whack?

The recalled cars were a 2015 Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S built between November 26, 2016 and November 27, 2014.

  8. The 2011-12 Cayenne Hybrid is leaking has from the fuel injector system. That's not very eco-friendly, although it one approach to using less gas (I kid, of course)?

    The problem is two-fold:

    1. The leak can be so bad that some owners have said they can smell the gas inside the cabin
    2. And gas leak can quickly turn your car into a hybrid-kabob

This is probably a good time to put down that cigarette (if you're still into that sort of thing). The automaker plans to replace the fuel rails and corresponding seals to try to stop the leak. Full details of the recall are available on CarComplaints.com.
