Two Porsche vehicles on a foggy mountain road

Porsche thinks the connecting rods can fail in some 2021 models, leading to a recall of 120 vehicles. The connecting rods hold the pistons to the crankshaft so you can probably imagine why busted ones are a big deal. Hint: it starts with oil leaks and ends with catastrophic engine failure.

  • The recalled cars include the Cayaman GT4, Cayman GTS 4.0, the 718 Spyder, and the Boxster GTS 4.0.
  • The recall (#AMA4) is expected to begin on May 23, 2021. Drive carefully until then.

The best way to find out what's wrong with a vehicle is from the people who drive them. Not only do owner complaints help us rank vehicles by reliability, but they're often used to spark class-action lawsuits and warranty extensions. Plus, they're a great way to vent.
